That awkward moment where someone else has already had your 'really great idea'

So, you may remember last post I told you that my creative juices were positively overflowing just lately. So, it seems have everyone else's!

I was happily skipping through the land of blog earlier and loosing myself in all kinds of eye candy, when I got to Lucy's page at Attic 24, my heart suddenly skidded to a stop.....OH NO! right there. on her wonderous blog. my mini crochet bunting idea.

All beautifully executed, photographed and tutorial written up! Damn you woman, do you have to be so good at just about everything??!! Now its going to be EVERYWHERE because her blog is so very popular
. On the positive side though, I don't have to spend the afternoon muddling through trying to come up with a pattern for it, as she has so very kindly already done this.........phew!! Me and my crochet hook will be whizzing away!
Well, I say whizzing away, first I've got a customer order from my etsy shop to finish <3
Along with photographing some new items.....I'm
hoping tomorrow will be a good day for pictures because it's supposed to be sunny, a little bit sunny at least. That's the worst thing about January's, the grim weather means you dont have a very big time slot for photographs.

Now, I'm thinking about whether I should crack on with a few of my other ideas too in case someone else out there in blog land steals t
he limelight first!!!

The Elves and The Shoemaker

This week I've been making lots of pincushions for my etsy shop. Pincushions made from walnut shells and scrappy bits of fabric. They remind me of my favourite fairy tale 'the elves and the shoe maker'. Simple. Cute. Teeny tiny.

Its helping to keep my fingers moving because boy oh boy its cold out there this week! I've been dreading the school run each morning in case I fall flat on my face or my bum, it has been known and it was ever so slighty mortifying.
I love how the frost prettyfies everything though, it makes it look so magical outside, glittery and it Narnia -ish.

I've also nearly finished the knitting I told you about last post, I'm a bit excited about this one and can't wait for it's ta dah moment! I hope my picture dont let it down. I'm still no good at taking pictures.

So, if you need me, I'll be the one sat on the sofa eating walnuts, making things, trying to stay warm

Pinning Like mad!

Hello all, Happy January!!!

Me and 2012 seem to have gotten off on the right foot! (Y
ay).

Ok, so we still don't have a job or anything yet but I'm positive this WILL be our year. Things will all work out and our future will be bright.

So, it's a happy january for me because my crafting seems to have gotten off to the best start :D I have quite a few little projects that I've finished just lately but I still need to get them photographed before thier big Ta-Dah moment. At the min I'm working on something verrrrrrry exciting, and verrrrrrrry pink! (and no it's not heart shaped either).

This month, or on Tuesday of this week to be exact I found my new happy place on Pintrest! Whilst alot of you out there seem to have known about this for ages I'm a newbie, I'm spending most of my spare non projecty time on the net pinning things, crochet things, wedding things, housey things, most things really that I really love and repinning things that other people seem to love and found before me! It's given me heaps of inspiration and I must confess thats where my newest project idea was born so, hurrah for pintrest!!!

I can also tell you that I have swapped my hook for my sticks and started knitting once again! I must admit I've been knitting since I was about 8 years old and all this time I think I was doing it wrong (I'm now 28) I'm a lefty for starters and I think I used to be what people called a 'thrower' anyway I googled and you-tubed ways in which to knit and hold your yarn and now I'm quite pleased to say that I knit like a normal person!! (Thank heavens for you tube) I must admit though I still think I must be doing something wrong because I'm a: not a very fast knitter and b: it really hurts my hands and fingers after a while! I might you-tube some different techniques see if I can get going with something. Anyhow, thats what I'm doing right now knitting and pinning as if my life depended on it.
